“Set goals that are reasonable and doable. High achievers meet the goals that they set for themselves because the goals that they are setting are achievable. Do not set yourself up for failure by setting lofty goals that no person in their right mind would ever be able to achieve. Instead, break your long term goals up into smaller, more manageable short term ones. If you can meet or exceed a new short term goal on a daily or weekly basis, you too will be well on your way to high achievement.” Make a commitment with your friends. Having weekly check ups with your friends to make sure you’re on track with your goals can be very helpful. When you write down goals and share them with a friend you have a better chance at staying committed to them. Last week one of my co workers shared her list of goals with me and I decided to keep a keep a goal list as well. Each day that she achieves a certain task on her list she pays herself 50 cents and at the end of the week she is able to spend that extra money on whatever she wants. One for personal development, another for your financial goals, health goals, and even a goal list for building better relationships. Bill Copeland said it best “if you don’t have a goal in life, you are spending your life running around and not achieving anything for yourself.” I believe that each and every one of you are capable of achieving your goals. No Excuses!
