This is for those who no longer want to conform to the norm
Dear wonderful person reading,
You probably feel like there is more to life than commuting an hour to your 9-5 collecting a check and going home to watch rachet t.v. on Monday nights.
They say every movie has a climax, but lately, you’ve been feeling like it’s the same old scene every day, and you’re tired of it.
You want something different.
That’s exactly how I felt a few years ago. I kept asking myself when am I going to wake up and be my own superhero?
After losing my dad to cancer in 2016, I became really motivated to follow my dreams because we only get one life. I know you hear that line all the time, but it really hits you deeply when you lose one of the people who gave you life.
He would always tell me:
“Candice, whatever you’re going to be, be a good one. Don’t conform to the norm, be the original you that you were meant to be.”
I had graduated college with $38,000 worth of student loan debt. When I was laid off I still had $10,000 of debt left to pay and was determined to pay it off within that year.
I had the opportunity to freelance at a smaller agency which paid me more than my 9-5, while still gaining my own clients on the side. I was now making more money as a freelancer than I was at my 9-5 and I was able to reach my goal of paying off all my student loans. (insert slight twerk here)
I was debt-free finally, but now what?
I was no longer a Young Yet Wise 20-something struggling with money. I was now a newly 30-year-old, soon to be living in a new city and ready for all the opportunities that God has in store for her.
Currently most of my time I spend helping online business owners create digital assets for their brands. A woman who happens to love creating videos, learning, helping others, laughing, inspiring people, working out, oh and tacos.
On my site I will be sharing tips for business owners, business owners to be, and chatting about all things business, finance, and life.
Maybe you’ve already built your blog or side business or maybe you haven’t. Whatever the case there is something for everyone here.
I’ve learned many lessons along the way that I’m excited to share with you.
