While not everyone is okay talking about money, Paying off your student loan debt is super common these days. Seriously almost everyone has student loan debt, or credit card debt. I thought, wouldn’t it be nice if we could help and support each other in this situation? So today, Jessica will share about how she was able to pay off her debt during the challenge. Join a group Being in the group environment of the debt challenge has been very helpful. It has introduced the element of positive competition. Seeing everyone working towards the same goal, and seeing other people making progress made her realize that she can do it too, it inspired and encouraged her to do just as good as everyone. Besides, it’s always fun to do things with people who are trying to achieve the same goals. The more, the merrier! Share / get ideas Another thing that Jessica considered helpful was sharing and getting ideas from the group. While they all had the same goal, everybody had a different approach and strategy. And that has helped her see the different perspectives and the different methodologies that can be used towards accomplishing their one goal. Have a positive mindset about your debt It’s very important to maintain the positivity if you want to get through it. After all, it’s going to take a lot of time before we pay all of these debts off so you might was well choose to be positive instead of being miserable all time. Stop the negative ‘woe is me’ mindset. Instead, have positive affirmations and keep believing in the power of positive thinking and just keep framing your thoughts in a positive way. Just pay off debt Just do it. It can’t hurt you. If anything, it can only help you. Some millennials tend to always look for a quick and easy way to do things. But joining a 5-week debt challenge group doesn’t necessarily mean all your debt will be finally be paid off. It’s going to involve a lot of hard work too and joining a group that strives to achieve the same goal will give the ideas and encouragement you need. At the end of the day, it’s really up to the individual to know that there’s actual work that you have to put into it as well as a few sacrifices to make. Joining a group of like minded people to who have similar goals to reach is a great way to pay off your debt because these people will keep you accountable.
